The Touristic Zone of Coqueiros coast covers the whole Northern coast
of the State of Bahia in Brazil, extending over one hundred and ninety-three
kilometers. In the State, between the Touristic Zone of All Saints' Bay
and the State of Sergipe, i.e., from Ipitanga beach to Mangue Seco.
Coqueiros coast, having been part of Garcia D'Avila lands, still has traces
of the former lands of the Avilas, such as the Garcia d'Avila’s
Tower House, a residence functioning as a big house for the masters, as
well as a fort and a monitoring post.
Garcia d’Avila’s Tower House or Castle served as basis for
colonization of the Northern coast and expansion of the livestock breeding
in the Northeastern Region of Brazil, molded as a sort of feudal territory.
The land of Garcia D’Avila and, later, of his heir, also the grandson
of Caramuru and Catarina Paraguaçu, continued to expand with the
installation of corrals up to the lands of Pernambuco and at West up to
Jacobina.
Coqueiros coast is cut by BA-099 highway in its two sections: the Coco
Highway and its extension to Linha Verde equipped with several means of
accommodation in a total of 11.611 beds according to SCT.
Guarajuba Beach is one of the most beautiful beaches in Camaçari,
in the State of Bahia, Brazil. Located 42km from Salvador along the Linha
Verde.
Most people that have work due to tourism actually live in Monte Gordo,
city that is in the same km as Coco Highway, however at the opposite side
of the highway. The beach today is one of the most well frequented of
the Northern coast of Bahia, having well structured tents and restaurants.
Guarajuba is a perfect city for tourism. Although small, it is very peaceful.
What draws attention is the fact that it is surrounded by an urban landscape,
but it also presents fantastic natural scenery.
